Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Division of Student Affairs, University of North Carolina – Wilmington

Lowell K. Davis graduated from Hampton University with a bachelor’s degree in English arts-secondary education. He has a master’s degree in counseling with an emphasis on college student development and holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University in higher education administration and student affairs with an emphasis on the history of education.
 
Today, Lowell serves as the vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. He served as the associate vice chancellor for student success at Western Carolina University (WCU). He came to WCU from the University of Alabama (“Roll Tide!”), where he rose through the ranks of both academic and student affairs. Lowell completed an American Council Fellowship at the University of California Davis and currently serves as a member of the Council of Fellows. Lowell was elected as the president-elect for the North American Association of Summer Sessions and assumed the presidency in November 2021.
